Seville Photos

While I was in Seville for WordCamp Europe and spent most of my time at the conference (and practicing my speech for the conference), I had a bit of a chance one afternoon to walk around and see some sites with Tammie Lister who also took some great shots. It was great being able to chat with a WordPress person I had only had a few passing conversations with while also getting to know a city foreign to us both.

I really liked the architecture of Seville. It was a great blend of hundreds of years of styles. From the little plazas to the grand cathedral, it was stunning. I really want to head back, not only to see more of the sites, but also just to be able to relax in the plazas. Though I think I would prefer it being a bit chillier than the extreme heat of June.

Warm Winter Photography on the National Mall

Marine Corps War Memorial

Yesterday was a nice day outside and I felt like going for a walk. I ended up wandering down to the Marine Corps War Memorial better known as the Iwo Jima Memorial and arrived just in time for some great lighting. I took five pictures that I think turned out really cool.

I used my tripod and remote clicker to get this really long exposure. I love the transparency of the flag from it blowing in the wind.

Sunset over Canada

I was at the falls for the quite possibly the best time of day. I love how the colors contrast with the white in the water from the falls. More pictures from my trip to Niagara Falls are on Flickr

Boston

I went to Boston for WordCamp Boston where I presented on Automating your front end development workflow. I followed that up with the White Sox playing the Red Sox and my first trip to Fenway. The White Sox might have lost, but it was still a lot of fun. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Niagra Falls at 100mm

The water from Niagra Falls flows with such hard circles, it almost looks like clay before giving way to the raw power of the falls.
